Guided Walk with Tom Wessels
During this interpretive walk, Tom Wessels will lead participants through the local woods, sharing his insights into the hidden stories of the forest. You’ll explore features such as:
Evidence of past agricultural use
Unusual tree forms and stump patterns
Coevolved plant relationships
Remarkable ecological adaptations
And more fascinating clues from the natural world
Tom is a terrestrial ecologist, professor emeritus at Antioch University, and founder of its master’s program in Conservation Biology. For over 30 years, he has led workshops and presentations on sustainability and forest ecology across the U.S. He is the author of multiple books, including the acclaimed New England’s Roadside Ecology: Explore 30 of the Region’s Unique Natural Areas.
