Home of the first network of hiking trails in the United States, Waterville Valley is a hiker's paradise.
With 125 miles of hiking trails, towering peaks, and 5 of the White Mountain 4,000 footers - the opportunity for exploration is endless.
Dozens of hiking trails start right in the heart of town and lead to endless vistas including cliffs, waterfalls, flumes, rockslides, and stunning vistas.
With trails ranging from old dirt roads to high alpine scrambles and everything in between, we have a trail for everyone here at Waterville Valley.

GUIDED HIKES

Get back to your roots...and rocks on adventurous walks with friends on the amazing mountain trails within Waterville Valley and in lofty locales beyond the borders of town. Different routes will be selected each week. Many trail surfaces may be encountered: rocks & roots, rock slabs, and occasional obstacles. Trails may be rough, steep, and involve un-bridged stream crossings. Routes will typically be 3-6 miles in length with varying amounts of elevation gain. Hosted by the Waterville Valley Recreation Department, 9am -2pm every Saturday. Member/ $5, Guest/$20


PATCH program

Want to hit the trails but don’t know where to start?  Pathfinder and Redliner Patch Programs give both new and experienced hikers a chance to discover new peaks and explore more White Mountain terrain. Log your trail miles to earn a Patch today!
