Waterville Valley Resort MLK Weekend: Great skiing and a lot more to do in the White Mountains

Waterville Valley, NH –Amid the recent massive snowfall, Waterville Valley Resort offers lots of options this Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Weekend – with fun activities, inside and out, for everyone.

With a foot of fresh snow fallen in the new year, more terrain is open than ever this season for downhill and cross-country skiing. In addition, there are a wealth of activities and events available for both adults and children. The Adventure Center, located in Town Square, offers nordic retail, rentals, lessons, and events, plus snowshoes and fat bikes. Other wintery activities include tubing, dog sled excursions, and skating at the year-round indoor ice arena. Within walking distance from Town Square, the White Mountain Athletic Club offers a huge indoor pool, hot tubs, sauna and fitness facilities, plus racquetball and two indoor tennis courts.

On Saturday, January 13th enjoy fireworks over Corcoran Pond at 7:30pm. On the same day, spectators can cheer on downhill competitors during multiple events on the mountain. At the Adventure Center, women interested in learning or improving their cross-country skills can participate in a Women’s Clinic complete with yoga, lessons, and a wine & wax evening. On Sunday, January 14th, practiced skate skiers can learn advance techniques from 4-time Olympian, Kris Freeman at an Advanced Skate Clinic from 10-11:30 a.m. Plus the Waterville Valley Recreation Department has a full schedule of fun programs over the whole weekend, from Pickleball to stuff your own bear.

Ski & Stay packages pair lift ticket deals with lodging in the Town Square Condominiums. Staying in Town Square or any other participating hotels gives guests access to the Freedom Pass, allowing access to the White Mountain Athletic Club and free passes for other activities. All these activities will work up an appetite, and thankfully there are several restaurants located right in the valley including Coyote Grill, La Hacienda Mexicana, Mulligan’s Taproom & Eatery, La Tasse Cafe, Old Waterville Pizza Co. and Legends 1291 Sports Bar. To remember the trip to Waterville Valley, there are several shops offering gifts and memorabilia in the Town Square.
