The Memorial Day Weekend at Waterville Valley is the start of summer. There are fun activities for all ages from fishing to face painting and live music.
The fun begins at 8am on Saturday morning with the 8th annual Casting for Kirby Youth Fishing Derby. The competition is divided, kids ages 7 and under and children from 8 to 15. The goal is try to catch Corcoran Pond’s elusive Kirby and win a prize. It is a $6 registration fee by Thursday, May 25 or $10 onsite. But that’s not the only thing happening on that day. Family friendly entertainment is also provided, including a presentation by NH Balloon Man, face painting, boat rentals (extra fee) and a visit with Bruce the Moose.
