Easter Weekend Eggstravaganza Events

Waterville Valley Resort Saturday, April 3rd- Sunday April 4th 2010 Saturday 10:30 Extreme Pond Skimming Registration will take place from 8-10am at the Event Yurt and is open to the first 70. After the skimming is over head to Buckets for awards. 10 – 12 Easter Basket Decorating: at the Rec. Department. $5/person. Bring your Easter Basket or purchase one from us to decorate. We supply all that you need to get your basket ready for Easter with ribbon, Easter grass, pompoms, feathers, silk flowers and more. All Ages Welcome. 603.236.4695 11 am-12 pm Curious George Story Time and Craft at the Margret and H.A. Rey Center. $5 per child suggested donation. Pull up a bean-bag chair to hear your favorite Rey stories read out loud. Selections will include stories from the Curious series as well as other Rey favorites such as Pretzel, Elizabite, Cicely G and more. Following story time we will make seasonal crafts that children can take home. 1 – 3 pm Egg Coloring & Decorating at the Rec. Department. $5/person. Join in on this Easter tradition! We will supply each participant with 6 EGGS and all of the supplies needed to create Easter Egg masterpieces!!! You may bring your own eggs if you would like to decorate more then six eggs. Please call ahead to let us know you are coming so we can make sure your eggs are ready. Additional eggs for sale. The Challenge is to create a structure no larger then a standard shoe box to withstand a drop from the Clock Tower in Town Square. After the “drop” participants will have to dismantle their device to see if their egg survived. If the egg does survive the fall, participants must crack open the egg proving it was a RAW egg!! 6:30-7:30 p.m. “NH Wildlife – Signs of Spring” at the Margret and H.A. Rey Center. Join a naturalist and live native New Hampshire wildlife from the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center to learn about how wild animals respond to the seasonal changes of spring. All ages welcome. Youth ages 7-13 enjoy dodgeball, capture the flag, and more. Pre-registration recommended as there is a minimum of 10 participants required. 603.236.4695 Sunday 6:00 – 6:30 am Sunrise Church Services (non-denominational) at the top of Mount Tecumseh. (White Peaks Quad starts loading skiers and foot passengers at 5:30.) 6:30 Base Lodge open for Breakfast. 6:30 – 8 am Free skiing on White Peaks Quad. 8:00 am Easter Egg Hunt at the ski area. For children 12 and under. Meet by Smoky the Bear at the bottom of the J-Bar for an 8:00 am start. Sponsored by Snapple. 9:30 – 10 Mandatory Registration for Annual Easter Egg Hunt Frenzy at the Waterville Valley Recreation Department. $5/participant. All participants should dress appropriately to hunt OUTSIDE. Find an egg with a GOLDEN TICKET and win great PRIZES!
